In post-Super C days, the Chicago to Richmond (later North Bay; both Bay Area terminals) schedules have always been Santa Fe's hottest trains, as opposed to the Chicago-Los Angeles runs. Q-LANY/Q-NYLA were (and its successors are) certainly hot trains, but not the "hottest."
