Hunter, this is a great example of this locomotive. Union Pacific seems to Purchase and Run the BIG locos. I live near the other Big Blow in Ogden, Utah. This one is in better condition.

Different generations, I know, but I'd loved to have seen just one long, heavy freight powered by both "Big Blow" at the point followed by "Big Jack".

Kurt, for a year those engines were on the roster together as the Big Jacks came into being in 1969s and the Big Blows were all gone by 1970

Hunter, ohhh, what might have been. This photo (also at the Illinois Railway Museum) is probably the closest we'll get. Just imagine seeing this at Sherman Hill or some similar place, followed by a combined rack-and-stack train as long as physics will allow. Just imagine. (Perhaps some noisy SD40s in the back or mid-train would complete the dream.)
