Those Gondolas aren't exactly period equipment. You have to wonder if some yardmaster said you are going where? Well might as well be useful grab those gondolas and take them along with you and earn your keep. I am thinking though her fuel source was probably in them, and you can't exactly pick up a load of fuel for her anywhere along the way.

Konrad, you are correct about the gons. They are carrying coal for 611. The next gon that is just coming into the frame is also carrying a backhoe for loading her tender.
