Interesting background info. It sounds like the locomotive is an SD40M-2 instead of SD45 in the Locomotive Details. Just an observation. Does the UP actually use these two locomotives or are they just sitting there becoming more weathered as the days turn into years? Just curious.

I generally use the original model in the model field here on RP.net, because usually that is what the locomotive still looks like. Plus, there is such a wide variety of rebuild models that it becomes hard to search for things (but by including it in the caption, then the model is still generally searchable). Plus - while most sources list these as SD40M-2s, one notable SP expert lists them as SD40-2Ms. So I find the original model to be the spring which flows into all other streams.
