Thank you so much for sharing that very nice historical photo. I was to young back then and therefore never had the privilege to experience one of those roaring by. That must have sounded simply incredible! Also that period in Union Pacific history when the DD35's, large Alco's, DD40AX's and the various turbines roamed there system certainly earned Union Pacific (U.P.), the moniker "Ultimate Power". Fantastic photo.

Beautiful shot Bill. I was visiting some relatives in Sidney, Nb. back in 1964 and as you know, they were LOUD going by. While I was there, one was tied down in the small yard idling. I couldn't get closer than 100 ft. without ear protection. Also saw the brand new DD35 mated with GP35s. Those were the days! Thanks for the memories Bill.
