Neat shot, I thought that this line would be ripped up after the cement factory in Davenport closed. Some very nice scenery on this line.

Thank you. The future is looking bright for the Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line. It will be years before a cleanup plan for the Cemex plant is finalized, but I am sure the SC&MB will be involved with the dismantling of the plant and restoration of the land. Currently there are 4 active customers in Watsonville and another is resuming railcar deliveries in Santa Cruz. In addition, rail car storage is being considered for the Davenport branch and a repeat of last year’s steam event is being planned. Recreational rail service and a dinner train are planned to start service later this year or in 2016.
