That's actually a wide nose, not a wide cab. Wide cabs don't exist.

I still remember the first time I saw one, probably around this time in Massachusetts. Great photo. It brought back a great memory. As far as the terminology is concerned, the "Canadian Comfort Cab" is commonly referred to a "Wide Cab" or "Wide Nose Cab". In fact, the railroad "itself" refers to "wide cabs" frequently. So I guess everyone is right.

In any case, the "W" turned the -8 models from ugly ducklings into swans[imho].
