Three cheers for Norfolk Southern's "Tuxedo" color scheme here. Anything is an improvement over their fleet's current drab black and white.

There is an ironic beauty to this frame. Longtime Southern chief Bill Brosnan knew in the 1960s the real future for intermodal was the container, not the trailer, on flatcar. It took the industry a few decades to catch on and here, albeit 50 years later, we see the proud Southern Railway still looking "ahead."

Casey, you are not just a very lucky guy that landed a fantastic job as a photographer for the NS, your photos have shown that you are really very talented, and deserve the position. This is an outstanding night shot. (Although the rest of us mere regular railfans can only dream of getting our photos from the tower!)
