In America we had the foresight to save some equipment but, in most cases, not the wisdom to save the infrastructure. This is a great treasure.

It's neat to see the buildings that support a railway...especially one that is as old as this one and still functions. From the number of interesting photos you have posted from the Tanfield Railway, it definitely looks like a good place to visit in the UK.
