Glad to hear there were no fatal injuries. Can anyone answer my question as to what happens to an electric-powered train when they leave the track ?? How is the electricity shut off ?? If necessary to evacuate, do people jump with any risk ? I have no idea.

If the Catenary stays in Place there is no risk. Otherwise you could not leave in the Station either. If it comes down it usually shorts out. In that case the power will be cut before leaving the train.
