Nice capture of the two railways Bill! To add further on your comment, this part of British Columbia's Fraser River (also the Thompson River) on the Canadian National Railway's side, was the demise of the Canadian Northern Railway (CNoR) that was constructing a second mainline west. Adding to CNoR's costs, along with CNoR's Montreal Tunnel Project, CNoR was not able to get profitable during Great War in Europe (WW1) and went bankrupt in 1918. The Canadian Pacific Railway was the first to build the mainline west and had the first pick of the easiest and less costly route to build. Canadian National Railway was first formed by the Canadian Government in December of 1918 with CNoR bankruptcy. (In 1923 Grand Trunk railways were added to CNR by the Canadian Government)

Gorgeous location, Bill! And, you caught 5819 flying white "extra" flags and displaying white "extra" class lights!
