I always found it odd how they applied the CNW herald to the sides of those early Sd40-2's.

If you look at engine 6809 you will notice the vent under the cab side window. Because of that they off-centered the logo, and on the fireman side they simply matched it. After no. 6815, following orders adjusted the vent and logos got centered. I'm just happy that EMD kept the solid green cab at a time when repaints were getting Milwaukee style yellow green separation.
