A handsome train with a nice human-interest angle-- and jointed rails, too! The drab colors of the ROW make the colors really pop; not bad for color film of that era! A very nice photo!

Disappointedly, but with no real surprise, a search of Port Carbon on Google Earth shows that neither of the two structures in this photo seem to remain, however the wye is still in place. The structure with the two towers, partly hidden behind the E looks to be most interesting and would be worth the trip to see, IF it was still standing.

The twin towers are the tops of water tanks, a holdover from steam days, which ended in 1953. To see the whole 1955 trip log into Godfatherrails.com.
