A gorgeous image!! The scale of the landscape in comparison to the trains is amazing. This photo elevation must have required a lot of effort to reach!

Beautiful photo. The first time I was out west I was unprepared for views like this – you could see forever and any number of trains could be seen, often miles apart. It was like looking at a giant model railroad. A terrific image!

I lived in LA for several years. Like an idiot, I considered this bit of land worthless and only to be endured while traveling through it. I have been back since to atone for my sins for I now understand what an amazing area it is. After seeing this great picture, I want to go back even more now. Thanks for this great view Darren.

The Mojave is an Amazing Place, but best viewed Spring, Fall and Winter ! Summer is like standing in front of a Hot , Open Oven Door !

All the comments above are so respectful of the Mojave, an awesome place. It was near Bagdad, heading east in the early morning during the summer of '66, that my family had an interesting accident on Rte 66. We were pulling an old farm trailer with my brother's household items back to the Midwest when the driver (my sister-in-law at the time), fell asleep & dropped the car off the two-lane road (in the days before I-40). The resulting swerve caused the trailer to flip on its side & we drug it to a stop. My brother's TV lay in a mess in the middle of the pavement, along with an intact bottle of Mrs Butterworth's syrup. We set the trailer back upright, retrieved the syrup, pitched the TV off into the desert, & continued on. This all took place with seeing another vehicle during the whole time.
