A great job capturing the gorgeous looking Santa Fe F7! Makes me want to go out and purchase one in HO scale - except, I already have!

What a beautiful paint scheme. It's a darn shame that that one couldn't have attended the Spencer Streamliners event last summer. For me that would have really completed the event.

Exquisite. In my books the F units and this paint scheme were made for each other. Good to see her residing indoors as well.

I still can not believe that NS-FE did not accept the very best paint scheme that ever graced a locomotive. The horrible baby s**t yellow that they are using just does not cut it. Gerg, you hit the jackpot with this one. PCA vote

You'd have a hard time finding a Christmas tree big enough to put this gem under it!! Such sweet perfection!!! Sigh.......

Is this engine in working order. Or is it just a shell, no prime mover or working components.

Always love seeing pics of this unit. It was the first F that I ever shot, back in 2003 in Sac. Sadly, my shot doesn't look half as nice as this, even though it was outdoors in the sun at the time. Well done, Georg!

Here is ATSF 306C in Amtrak service before donated to CSRM as the 347C.

@ J.Alvarez: No, (sadly) not operational, but an excellent looking body since decades. I pictured this locomotive already on my first visit of the USA and the Railroad Museum in Sacramento in 1991, then standing outside, together with a "B" unit. I think, if it would be operational, it wouldn't standing in a museum!

I'm pretty sure I've seen it moving in the not so distant past, and according to the CSRM webpage, 347C (as well as 347B) is "Operable": http://www.csrmf.org/events-exhibits/full-size-railroad-equipment/internal-combustion-locomotives. Of course, that page could be outdated, but at the very least it should be "servicable".

@ kchubb: Ok, sorry, then I am wrong. But I think never ran on the mainline since a very long time.
