B&O 4580 had a good long life, being one of the B&O Fs selected to be totally rebuilt for MARC commuter service. 4580 soldiered on for another 20 years as MARC 81 until being retired in 1993.

Maybe the cabs were more comfortable for the crew, or was there another reason to put those old F's ahead of the newer hood units?
