This looks like a 'swing bridge' to me. Of course, if it had 'four pistons' to raise it, then it could be a lift bridge. However, the center island of piers tells me it is a swing bridge. Nevertheless, a 'cool' shot for me to see ice covered waterways...since I live in Florida.

This was a lift bridge, the lifting mechanisms are long gone. Their is an out of use swing bridge on the other side of this bridge. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=508994&nseq=5
