Was ECH lucky enough to be at the controls by any chance?

Nice catch Bob, but why on earth does the FEC need 24 ES44s?!

Tim they expect business to pick up after the Panama Canal widening is finished.

24 engines operating on a nearly 400 mile carrier with 2 engines per train is only 12 trains, presuming ALL are operational at the time and engines must have periodic inspections that are not 15 minutes at Jiffy-Lube.

Fair enough, mmi16, but I imagine they already have over 24 units on their current roster when you think of all of the SD40, SD70, GP38 and GP40 types.

From what I've heard the SD-70's are all leased and will be leaving the property and most of the SD-40'S will be leased out. Running 2 GEVO's per train should show a lot of fuel savings to the railroad over the older power.

I love my city! FEC is on of the many reasons I enjoy calling this my home.
