Ah, the new Talgo cab cars - no doubt inspired by the lovable cartoon character "Mater" from the Pixel film; "Cars". The original prototype from 2006 can be seen here.

But the ride is so nice we don't care what the outside looks like. Just so it gets us there.

Call me old fashioned, short sighted, tasteless, whatever, but I just can't stand the Talgo 8 trainset cab car design. It has a toy sculpting as if designed for toddlers by Fisher Price and is not befitting the dignity and might of Amtrak, IMHO.
