Here's the link to a May 18, 2008 Altoona Mirror newspaper article "K-4 to return — in pieces":

That article was published 3+ years BEFORE Dennis took his picture.
There is a scan of a January 9, 2014 Altoona Mirror article "Council Approves K-4 grant renewal" posted here:

My only encounter with 1361 was in Juniata Shop in Altoona in 1989. The engine was in pieces in one of the shops. A small group of us were on a private tour. Somewhere I have some K-200 slides. Thanks, Dennis, for updating us---sad though it may be. I won't be expecting a K4 to steam again in my lifetime--if ever.

For the record, the boiler looks more "complete" than from the last time I saw it. At least it's under cover. For all the new metal that has been added just bite the bullet and replace the course with the steam dome. That's how our forefathers did it in the old days.

I visited 1361 many times while she was at the Horseshoe Curve, I watched them remove her from her perch at the Horseshoe Curve, I saw her during her restoration in the Juniata Shops, I saw her in action, and then I saw her in pieces - again. This certainly leaves a rail fan frustrated because the pride of the Pennsy shouldn't be kept in pieces like this for so long. If you think about it, she spent about 30 years at the Horseshoe Curves and now she's spent just about the same amount of time in her post Horseshoe Curve life in pieces and brief excursion service. I'll say it again this way...Humpty Dumpty stands a better chance of being fixed than the K4 does! Thanks for the great photo Dennis. She still looks good even if she's stuck in a shed where she looks like a 0-4-4-0 instead of a 4-6-2!
