James, Is there any reason the point help would not stay on the train until the bottom of the Soldier Summit grade, for additional braking? They could be cut off at Helper in like fashion as at the summit. The train likely was recrewed at SLC, so the train would not need to stop otherwise. Great snowcapped Wasatch shot!

Standard procedure was to cut off at the Summit for eastbound point helpers. If there were dynamic braking or air problems, the helpers would stay on the point to Helper Yard.
