Just loving your awesome photography Tim. I'd love to see your photos in a book one day. This bridge is amazing!!! I guess it is one of the longest timber bridges in North America now, right? Speed restriction???

Cool line. Too bad it's at night most days.

Very neat and hard to believe that still exists! Has to be one of the longest wood trestles, if not the longest, left in service these days?

Hi everyone, sorry to tell you that the bridge is totally destroyed now. See the link below for more info. http://globalnews.ca/news/2663445/mayerthorpe-school-mobile-home-park-evacuated-due-to-massive-trestle-fire/

Pierre... You're out to lunch. This trestle is still intact.

Which trestle burned then? There was a post to Facebook group here in New Zealand but I don't recall the bridge being that well identified. New Zealand railways once abounded in wood trestles but not anymore.

It was another much smaller trestle just west of Mayerthorpe that burned down. And to answer your question from a while ago John, there is a 10mph restriction on the bridge pictured above.

Hello, I'm sorry the other bridge ( Mayerthorpe ) is north of this one, they look similar but the Mayerthorpe trestle is curved, this one is straight. They are not very far. My mistake.
