Wonder why the lightning stripe is further back than normal?

Looking good in it's fresh paint. These units have been looking pretty shabby in the last few years. I was fully expecting to see them being retired, at least off the UP's roster. Also, no flag, has UP decided to stop applying the flags to their units...anyone?
