Hopefully this wonderful viaduct will see service again given the planned extension of New Jersey Transit into Scranton PA. It would be a great thing to see trains on it once again.

Conrail would have removed this viaduct long ago, but for two reasons: The sheer expense of the work and minimal return on the materials salvaged.

Something about this shot just spoke to me. The living and the dead I suppose. I really want to chase a train on the old Lackawanna someday, but for now I'll just enjoy yours. Thanks for sharing.
