If I wanted to move to Maryland, or could afford to move to Maryland - I'd look into buying this place. Since I am not in the position to move, nor am financially able to afford a move right now - good luck to the whomever does buy this house. I would like to live in a house with this view though - someday. Thanks for "crushing" my dreams and totally making me upset that I can't buy this house Janusz Mrozek. (Just kidding) Nice photo of a place I could only live in in my dreams for now. Again, SOMEDAY....!

That would be the ultimate railfan home. My 2 yr old grand daughter would love it. Nice shot J.

That's my kind of porch.

Very nice! And, yes, you probably have a lot of railfans wondering just "how much?". Not enough steam for me though!

Is that street running or front yard running????

5167 Doubs Rd, only 245K and it looks like the perfect place for me. The current homeowners have done an outstanding job of renovating this house from what it looks like on google maps. I want it!!

That view just might be enough for me to give up my free government funded healthcare for.

A great property....as long as you're not a big fan of SLEEP!

I like your thinking on this - well framed and really an outside of the normal idea. Very well done. Have you put down your offer yet?

How close is it to a crossing (wondering how close to the house the horns are sounded)?

I was wondering the same thing. A good thing can be overdone.

Check the ouse out on Zillow: http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/5167-Doubs-Rd-Adamstown-MD-21710/36823964_zpid/ Now that is a house I could live in!

a railfan could be very very happy here .

Kevin Madore, Kurt Wayne, and Curious142 - all bring up an interesting point about the fact that there is a crossing just out of view off the front sidewalk and steps of this home that is up for sale. (I looked this up on the zillow.com site and Google maps and this house is practically right on top of a crossing) However, I know folks who live in houses this close to a railroad mainline and they tell me that after about a month and a half, you start to ignore and often times you are no longer aware of the trains. They eventually do become "background" noise to the point you just actually don't hear them anymore. So the sleep factor and horn noise becomes moot - and mute!

If a Non-Railfan buys this house they may request a "Quite Zone" lol Nice Pic!

A Dream Home, but hoping a derailment never happens or the living room might end up next to the traction motors
