IF I recall correctly, this paint scheme did not last very long before these units were sold off.

Note the automatic, multiple unit car-type couplers, mounted to the 266, to operate with these prototype multilevel cars. The actual production cars used knuckle couplers, and were sufficiently different in many other ways from the originals, that the prototypes were sold off, instead of being converted. Iowa Pacific bought some of the originals to operate on their tourist trains in Colorado and New York State.
