Fascinating. This again appears to be a "reverse lightning" strike, actually originating from near the ground, or in this case the tower in the distance, and emanating into the air. Such discharges are rarer but they do happen. Another photographer on this site captured such a strike in Pennsylvania earlier this year, also with the Norfolk Southern, I believe.
