I guess every railfan has a place like this in mind. For me, it is the C&O running through my hometown of Winchester, KY before CSX pulled up every foot of track.

Yes, CN now has ownership of the former WC track in the UP.

Good photo. In these days where loyalties wane quickly, I love the ironic metaphor as seen in the upright and clean whistle post. Although there are no trains now, it continues to warn of the pending crossing ahead. For any of us that have interviewed for a better position or job opportunity and being dismissed quickly with a quip like, "Do something your good at", I find solace, though everything else in the image appears derelict, the lone whistle post stoutly maintains itself as a sentinel for the next eastbound crew.
