Is the conductor pushing the gon, or is he stretching, or just tired? Either way I wouldn't want to be standing there when the power couples up to the front of the train!

He might be getting a stretch in. The power is actually coming towards him and won't be coupling up to the cars, so he doesn't have to worry about any unexpected movement.
