What a lovely period shot. Where was I on June 6th 1967? Watching the last of steam in the UK!

Those early COFC cars in the back are certainly interesting! Never knew CoG had IC painted locos either! UP/MILW was the only combo I thought doing that dance!

The Central of Georgia pool power that was painted in the IC colors was 811 and 812. As they where purchased specifically for this pool and where built to IC specs. To my knowledge 808 was never painted into brown and orange.

The two G of G E-8s were delivered in G of G colors, but were later repainted to match the IC train. The pair also got those IC-exclusive marker light visors in the process, so the paint job may have been done by the IC shops.

What a great action picture! Number 10 has just arrived at Central Station with modernized heavyweight cars and express. The power has been cut off and is heading out for servicing, while the switching crew is spotting the express cars for unloading. There isn’t much extra time as the equipment is scheduled to depart at 4:00, little more than five hours away.
