Rosmead: Brings back some memories...... 1976, overnight drive from Hillbrow to Steynsburg station. Camp out and catch the 15AR on the Stormberg-Rosmead pass. Fabulous glint light and steam effects if it was cold enough. This was my future wife's introduction to mad photters. Now Steynsberg station is all boarded up, the 15AR's are gone and so is the tracks. Wife is still around though !

Hey Greg, I wish I had seen steam on the Stormberg line - the scenery and the possibilities for "glint" shots were unmatched. A local farmer wanted to start a tourist steam operation but scrap thieves have nixed that idea.

Nice perspective Paul! Did you get a shot of the footbridge framing the locos as well? These latticework bridges are quite rare now. By the way, since when did one of your favourite GE's become a GT26MC?! I think that's the one behind, 34-060 is a U26C. And don't forget the motor car trains that run through here several times a week.

Good catch on the model, Eugene - the EMD-built class 34s are GT26MC. The two units behind this one are EMD-built class 35s (GT18MC). Couldn't get into the yard because it was securely fenced-off.
