Wow, easily the best perspective of the area I've seen!

Awesome, unique view of the bridge! One contributing factor to the state of decay you noticed was the "Royal Gorge Fire" which occurred here about one year ago.

I enjoy the photo until I see where you are standing! Height is not my strongest point, but you certainly used it to get a great photo.

I walked across this bridge in 1981 when I was 5 years old. I still think about it to this day on a regular basis. Not sure if I would be able to take that walk again. My fear of heights has grown over the years. Thank you for the memories and the spectacular picture.

Many thanks for your kind words. The bridge's car park is currently closed and a temporary road takes you above the gorge to viewpoints and picnic areas . Well worth a visit.

There was a major fire in the area last year, 2013 which burned some of the attractions. Also the buckskin railway was closed and equipment bought and removed in recent years as well.

Walked across this in 2007, and when cars would pass by the bridge and its wooden deck would shudder and shake ! You could look thru the gaps in the decking and look 1'000 or so to the bottom ! Not for the faint of heart
