A fine example of the idiotic in NYC/NJ transit "planning" if you can call it that. NYC should have had direct SUBWAY connections to area airports (JFK, LaGuardia) years ago, instead they build a separate, non-compatible, non-interchanging, single-purpose, isolated rail line that (of course) requires a separate, (and much higher) fare and (another) change of trains that introduces additional dwell time and decreases reliability. Ditto for the similar idiotic "system" built in NJ to run to Newark Airport that should have been an extension of existing NJ Transit, Amtrak and/or PATH services. Chicago should be the model - you can take the subway FROM THE AIRPORT (directly, as in station within the Airport terminal at O'Hare) directly to downtown Chicago without extra fares or changing trains. One can only be dumbfounded when the idiots that come up with these transit abortions are then puzzled as to how they end up "underutilized."
