The performances on the GS locos make no question this firebox is a good one. However, I didn't realize the crown sheet was so flat on the 4449; it's a sorta-Belpaire like. Also I have not seen this type of repair to what I think is called the waist sheet. I wonder what caused the need for replacement. Please pay no attention to a man who know only enough to be dangerous. :-)
