Old SD40-2's just soldier on.... Try this with a Dash-9, AC4400CW or SD70ACe at 40 years old? I don't think so. A true tribute to EMD's simple, extremely rugged design from 1974.

What is involved in making a SD40N? Just from the picture, I don't see any outward differences between this and a run-of-the-mill SD40-2.
