"Harper's Ferry is the last tunnel..to receive this work, being held up for MONTHS as CSX dickered with the U.S. Park Service over maintaining the historic appearance of the tunnel portal." WHY? So what about the " historic appearance of the tunnel portal"? The Gov't (U. S. Park Service) has ruined Gettysburg with all the "commercialization" they've allowed to be built on THAT historic battlefield. I mean there's a stupid freaking McDonald's near the "High Water Mark" on the edge of the field of the famed and disastrous "Pickett's Charge" why should they care about the "historic appearance of the tunnel portal" of Harper's Ferry NOW? As if anyone will even CARE about the appearance of the tunnel portal to begin with. No person in Harper's Ferry will even give a FIRST glance (forget about a second) at the tunnel portal and exclaim: "Oh dear, they've ruined the 'historic appearance of the tunnel portal'! What a shame!" No one will even notice, like they really pay attention to the appearance of the tunnel now! CSX, go ahead and do what needs to be done to the tunnel to accommodate double stacks and blow your loudest 5 chime Leslie in the face of the U. S. Park Service. Government RED TAPE and stupidity is ruining and burdening America! AAAAGHHH! Okay, I will pull my fist out of the wall, step off my soapbox and go watch a few trains some place nice and "quiet" now! I hope no one is upset, I didn't mean to raise my voice!
