I am wondering if the train crews get danger pay from the employer. Definitely not for the faint of heart. A rock slide would ruin your day.

A beautiful picture. The GM-EMD G12s could operate just about anywhere including on the face of a cliff.

This is the kind of photograph which challenges all the rest of us -- first, how to capture what a railroad did to overcome impossible conditions, and second, how did YOU get there to record it?! Very good, Entre.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Mr. Patterson, in front of that place there is another great wall. See this photograph: http://www.railpictures.net/photo/466475 ... from a very near location, facing the same train but when going through the bottom of the canyon and before beginning to climb.
