Seems like it would be a great place to run SP&S #700 assuming some agency would be open to maintaining the line for future use or as a short line option. Nice catch!

I am sad to say that the rail and ties have all been pulled up. The trestles are skeletons. I recently drove through Benge, Hooper, and Washtucna, and only the ballast remains, and the weeds are taking over fast. This photo is a testament to the tough terrain the SP&S conquered in Eastern Washington. A very nice photo, thanks for the effort!
