That is a nice train-watching spot, although train traffic seems to be a little lighter every year. This was the first location where I saw a signal mast that contains an additional colored light - blue. Without a sketch this is difficult to explain, so I'll just say that the blue signal indicated to the train crew which of the three tracks were controlled by signals.
