Thanks for this photo from 'my neck of the woods.' The first time I saw that bridge was in the mid 1960s and it had a New York Central oval on it. I'm not certain this contemporary version is an improvement. As for the skyline, that's an open question. Those high-rise buildings supplanted small businesses and shops that employed a lot of locals who were made jobless when they were built. Also supplanted was the original station building which stood on the right side of the bridge on the other side of the tracks. It was a large, stylish building that held regional sales and freight offices from when this line went all the way to Chatham Junction.
