Two incredible forms of freight handling equipment working in harmony. I really like this photograph.

This is awesome, Dave! Salmon in the area might have a slightly higher iron content than normal… :)

Great shot! Love the relationship of the train to the boat.

Wow no wonder everything is redish brown. Have to wear a respirator around there or risk getting rusty boogers!

Excellent documentary photograph of a neat process.

Dave, Excellent image. Out in the Pacific Northwest people are worried about dust from coal trains. Seeing this image will not relieve their concerns.

A beauty of what is really an action shot.

Wow, what a neat shot showing the working relationship between the two. The yellow engines really stand out and I wonder how many cars it takes to fill that ship and how long ?

Rich - if you figure each car has a capacity of around 85 tons and that large ship can carry 60,000+ tons of ore then it would take over 700 cars (6 trains) to fill the ship.

Dust mask or not... rusty boogers are a sad fact of life out there. What a great shot! Thanks for sharing.
