OK guys, ANYONE out there know WHY the head of that rail, which appears to be part of a switch, would have been painted yellow, OR is that just a color "aberration" ? If it is painted, I can't imagine the paint would have lasted long. Could this mean something like TEMPORARILY out of service ?

The "yellow" rails appear to be rusty. All it takes is a light rain and a short period of inactivity after the rain.

The yellow is rust on the rails from lack of recent use. Most likely had a rain storm and hadn't seen service since.
