I have little doubt that Mr. Beebe would have found a place for this shot in one of his books! He was a fan of short lines and the NH&I, while operating a former Reading branch, is a short line. I think he would find the 2-8-0 and its train irresistible.

Excellent "old time" B&W. As to Beebe being pleased (I have many of his/their books), I bet he and Clegg would be humbled. Maybe 10% of what they published was as good as this shot.
