Posted by Russell Wiggins on January 12, 2014  Even a filthy Chessie unit is thing of beauty. I've also wondered why they never purchased more SD40-2's than just the 20 that went to the B&O but it is my understanding that Chessie's GP40-2's were ballasted for extra traction.
