Mr Smith's remarks are not a 100% correct, whilst this locomotive was indeed the last steam locomotive built by Beyer,Peacock & Co. the company lasted until the mid 1960s building both electric and diesel powered locos.

Apologies,my remarks should have read "This was the last Steam loco".Missed out a word,albeit an important one. Thanks for pointing that out.
