Really great photo and history lesson Mr. Stellpflug. It reminds me very much of CSX's abandonment of the former C&O line from Lexington, KY to Ashland, KY. About a decade or so after the abandonment, Toyota entered central Kentucky and many once-quiet towns along the former line are now buzzing with industrial businesses related to supplying the Georgetown, KY facility. At that time, CSX seemed like it couldn't shed routes fast enough.

When NS started painting their heritage trains, the Chessie cat scheme is one that was severely over-looked. I wish I would have grown up and seen more of these units.
