I thought that this was the PESR...what's the SBVR? Nice shot of three old workhorses though.

SBVR = South Branch Valley Railroad. West Virginia State-owned railroad, they handle the freight and maintenance on the line. The Potomac Eagle is just a contractor.

Back in 2005 my boys and I were canoeing down the South Branch of the Potomac and had just gotten to the point where the SBVR crosses the river on a girder bridge when without warning a freight headed by the Geep began to curve out over the bridge. Being that our plans were to ride The Eagle the next day on the same piece of river we were paddling on, I tried to grab my camera and get a shot of the Chessie Geep mid river but was too late. Thankfully some other paddlers alerted me to the fact that, in my zest I had forgotten our outfitters instructions to stay to the right of the small falls directly before the bridge or we would have probably gotten upset and ended up in the drink. What a great day that and the next was.
