The cost to transport the tram this way is probably more than the tram itself! I hope it was just a one time publicity move.

Usually an Antonov is hired for something like this when the manufacturer is late with the delivery. The first Irish Rail class 201 built by GMDD was transported to Ireland on an Antonov for that reason.
