People's Choice for me as well, We have some overgrown track in the UK right alongside track that is still in use! Just left with young trees growing right through it. Strange world we live in. I like this photo. Yes another space for a supermarket as if we haven't got enough of them already!

What a depressingly awesome picture, Mitch. PCA from me also.

Excellent POV, composition, and a great storyline to boot, I am also in for the PCA! Well done on so many levels. Would make a great sale for a large print on anyones wall.

Thanks all. Derek - in my opinion, that these are hoppers, a (large) handful among dozens of identical still surviving hoppers vs rare rusting motive power makes this scene a treasure and actually not so depressing. What perhaps is depressing is that such a site could become nothing more then a shopping center unless it is purchased and protected. As it stands, it's hidden from the public eye (for better or worse) and there has been a recent push to sell off as many cars as possible.

Mitch you continue to prove you know what will tickle the railfan's ocular zeitgeist. Well done.

Mitch, I have enjoyed your series on the EBT ... Nostalgic and poignant. I can visualize a locomotive approaching in the distance to do some switching, but somehow, I think it's perfect just as it is. Very unique.

Another interesting note about these hoppers..they were build right at the EBT shops! The trucks and couplers are the only purchased parts on them. The trucks were made by Vulcan, don't know about the couplers. Thank goodness, so far the shops have been also saved.
