I suppose it is a characteristic of our times, that MOST folks have no idea of the gritty work that goes on behind their ability to simply turn on a light switch or energize their flat screen TV.

I was in the loadout that morning monitoring the solution that is applied to keep the coal from freezing in the cars. It was a bitter cold morning. This was probably the third cut loaded for train U24. Wiyh the cold weather an other delays, the last car of 100 was loaded a little after 8 PM. The loading of this train started a 11:59 pm Saturday night. Chase, you must like the cold weather, as the morning temp was around 15 degrees.
